Job Description

Primary Role:

The ideal candidate will organize an instructional environment which helps Exceptional Children (EC) learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • North Carolina teaching license in special education (current)

Skills Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses a variety of assessment data throughout the year to evaluate progress
  • Establishes a safe environment that empowers EC students
  • Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community
  • May assist in determining school budget and professional development
  • Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers
  • Advocates for positive change in policies and practices affecting student learning
  • Participates in the implementation of initiatives to improve education
  • Improves communication and collaboration between the school and the home and community
  • Promotes trust and understanding and builds partnerships with the school community
  • Teachers integrate and utilize technology in their instruction
  • Responsible for the development of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for Exceptional Children (EC)
