Job Summary

The Department of Finance Insurance and Law (FIL) in the College of Business (COB) invites applications for a nontenure track position in the area of Business Law beginning in the fall of 2024. This position is a ninemonth (August 16th May 15th) position. The primary teaching need is in two courses:
1 Estate planning (FIL 342 covers required material that is part of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation (Illinois State University has a CFP Board Certified minor in financial planning). Topics include but are not limited to trusts wills probate charitable giving wealth transfers estate taxes.
2 Law for Accountants (FIL 375 reviews legal concepts related to corporations as background for the professional accountant. Topics include but are not limited to antitrust provisions secured transactions regulation of employer/employee relationship securities regulation bankruptcy.

Required Qualifications

1. A Juris Doctor degree
2. Must demonstrate commitment to effective teaching
3. For teaching positions state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience including evidence of effective teaching (e.g. evaluations peer reviews etc..
