Job Description

Job Summary: Elementary Special Education Teacher (Multiple Disabilities)The special educator will support grade level classrooms and the diverse needs of students with a range of disabilities. The special educator will have experience with elementary school age students (PK2 with mildmoderatesevere and/or multiple disabilities and have the capacity to foster a safe nurturing and positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence social growth and emotional wellbeing. This role involves collaborating with teachers staff students and parents to achieve the schools mission and goals.Experience and Responsibility:3 years teaching experienceExperience with communication devicesCurrent valid MA DESE Certification in Mild/Moderate Special NeedsStrong passion and prior lead teacher experience working with students with moderate special needs Proven communication and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with students parents support staff and administrationAbility to communicate with and manage support staffExperience with IEP writing evaluation and report writing skillsOther responsibilities deemed appropriate and assigned by the Principal and/or PPS Director.Responsible to the Building Principal and Director of PPS where appropriate
