Job Description

One of our customers is looking for a Quality Inspector.

Summary:
The Quality Inspector ensures the quality of all products produced within the organization meets all internal/external standards by auditing daily and/or hourly performing product testing and collecting / entering raw data into the specific inspection logs.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspection / Audits / Testing
    1. Complete a written line audit at set intervals throughout the shift.
    2. Audit all product being packed taping the box when full and signing the label in the corner as the Operator completes it when required.
    3. Conduct daily Material audits.
    4. Verify the accurate completion of Operator Inspection sheets.
    5. Visually inspect product from each press on a daily basis.
    6. Verify proper functionality of all working scales.
    7. Measuring part dimensions when identified by quality requirements.
    8. Performing incoming and outgoing inspections.
    9. Use calipers height gauge and other measuring equipment to measure product.
    10. Read and interrupt drawings/prints.
    11. Accept and reject product in accordance with quality standards.
  • Collecting / Entering Data
    1. Collect inspection data to identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
    2. Complete daily INSPECTION & LOT TRACEABILITY LOG
    3. Complete necessary product testing paperwork and/or logs as needed.
  • Samples
    1. Identify and notify responsible personnel when a process book needs updated.
    2. Verify criteria pictures are correct.
    3. Ensure samples are stored correctly.
    4. Ensure all necessary criteria samples are brought out at the beginning of a production run.
  • Training
    1. Assist with the training of new temporary and permanent employees on quality requirements.
    2. Demonstrate and review quality procedures with Operators as needed.
    3. Provide ongoing training on quality alerts and criteria
  • NonConformance Area
    • Coordinate / assign rework to Operators who have availability during their scheduled shift.
    • Perform rework on a regular basis.
    • Verify the count of RMA disposition the product direct Operators how to rework the product and verify the correct completion of the paperwork.
  • Use sound judgment manufacturing experience and technical knowledge to accomplish Quality goals and objectives.
    • Lead by example and comply with all work rules and guidelines; Maintain a polite courteous and professional manner at all times.
    • Conforms with and abides by all regulations policies work procedures instructions and all safety rules.
    • Exhibits regular reliable punctual and predictable attendance.
    • Provides a Customer Service attitude when interacting with external visitors while accomplishing work and achieving quality standards.

    • Proactively participate in problem identification and problem solving.
    • Participate in crossfunctional teams to support continuous improvement activities.
    • Maintain a professional neat and clean appearance and keep a clean and tidy work area.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the management team that may not be listed within this job description.


Physical Demands:
  • Regular use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand walk stoop kneel or crouch.
  • Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stand or walk.
  • Specific visional abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • 13 years of experience; High school degree or GED; or Equivalent years of experience
  • Machining / plastic injection molding experience highly desired.
  • Understanding of formal problem solving are highly beneficial.
  • Intermediate level technical ability. Particular expertise in ERP Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels of employees.
  • Ability to multitask and progress several projects simultaneously.
