JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Materials Design and Optimization Division of the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is seeking undergraduates interested in a wide range of topics focused on the design analysis fabrication and testing of advanced materials and material systems.
Typical Duties could include activities such as:
- Design and analysis using tools such as Siemans NX Solidworks Ansys and Abaqus
- Fabrication of composite systems using additive manufacturing filament winding and vacuum assisted resin transfer among others
- Testing and characterization using techniques such as computed tomography (CT) and ultrasonic inspection mechanical testing shearography etc.
Successful candidates will receive hands on experience that will give them the edge in todays competitive job market.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988 Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
