Job Title: SpeechLanguage Pathologist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary
Position is responsible for providing speech/language services to meet the individual needs of student with oral communication and speech/language impairments. Position is responsible for screening and assessment; goal development; and planning/implementing appropriate speech and language treatment services to maximize student learning.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in related field.
Must possess or be eligible for a license with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Audiology and SpeechLanguage Pathology and American SpeechLanguageHearing Association.
Must possess ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff parents and the public.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms outdoors and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; and to bend stoop sit on the floor climb stairs walk and reach overhead.

Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
