The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts are seeking a detailoriented and proactive Grant Coordinator/Writer to play a vital role in securing funding that supports our mission to protect public health and the environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To identify and apply for various grants and other funding opportunities that support the Districts mission and facilities and oversee funding application processes from beginning to end and performing grant administration.

Under the general supervision of a Supervising Engineer the incumbent will:
Identify potential sources of funding from Federal State and other sources and evaluate appropriateness of grant funding relative to Districts projects priorities and funding needs
Prepare applications proposals and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with funding sources
Track status of proposals and provide additional information as required by the funding source
Develop and maintain contacts with local state and federal funding agencies
Maintain records as required by funding sources ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies including assisting with financial reporting
Track grant deadlines
Proactively solicit information from and maintain communication with administrative managers
Coordinate with the Legislative & Regulatory Programs Selection to identify and apply for state legislative and Congressional project funding opportunities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must possess all of the following:
A valid California Class C driver license
A bachelors degree in public policy public administration business administration or another field closely related to the job requirements of this classification
Five 5 years of experience in grant development proposal writing and project management

SELECTION PROCESS:
All applications will be reviewed to determine if the conditions and qualifications for testing are met.
The selection process will consist of a writing project weighted at 40 and an interview weighted at 60.
Candidates must receive a qualifying score on each selection component to move forward in the selection process.
The initial review of applications is expected to begin the week of April 14.
