Duties And Responsibilities
Locate funding opportunities and recruit PIs to craft and submit proposals. Register with funding agencies. Connect PIs with other researchers for interdisciplinary collaborations. Keep current on relevant university state and federal policies and proposal submission processes including liaising with the Office of Research Development. Assist with all steps of grant proposal submissions from conception to submission. Conduct proposal meetings collect documentation draft proposal development templates and interpret application guideline requirements. Develop maintain and support PIs through sometimes aggressive timelines for proposal submission. Ensure milestones are met towards grant development and submission. Manage collaborative grant efforts across PIs and institutions and supports team building collaboration and conflict management. Assist with drafting a proposal outline review written proposals to ensure RFA is met and language is clear prepare proposal budget. Coordinate effectively with OSP including developing and maintaining timelines for people at multiple agencies. Work with OSP to establish grant indices and distribute moneys to institutions and sub-awardees. Oversee transfers of a grant from or to another institution. Advise on compliance issues such as human subjects use of animals or controlled substances. Clarify fiduciary responsibilities of PIs. Answer questions about grant funded projects including allowable expenses. Develop funding and expenditure reporting. Provide guidance in successfully closing out a collaboration with Assoc Dean of Research manage administer (budgets RFPs and reporting) Montana Fertilizer Assessment Committee Internal Mini-Grants Equipment calls and other College internal grants. Develop best practices and provide grant and research related training and workshops. Identify opportunities to strategically highlight project resources partnerships etc. Develop and maintain MAES impact statements. Prepare Montana Agricultural Experiment Stations annual federal research report of accomplishments and Plan of Work for USDA NIFA as well as Hatch and Multi-State hatch Projects.
