QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in marketing communications public relations or a related fieldor equivalent experience. He or she must have 10 to 15 years of experience in marketing public relations media relations journalism or a related field or job assignment that extensively utilizes communications skills.

Must have excellent communications (written visual and oral) staff and project management and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to think strategically coordinate projects meet deadlines interact positively with public and internal audiences and multitask. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and developing integrated campaigns using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) Adobe Creative Cloud and management of web and social media content systems. He or she must be a team player selfstarter and creative thinker who can thrive in a complex organization.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing the AVP for Communications and Marketing will hold a key role in guiding activities for the advertising and promotion of the Albany Med Health System. As such they will serve as the primary liaison for marketing needs at Columbia Memorial Health Glens Falls Hospital and Saratoga Hospital. Collaborating with members of the team in all locations the AVP for Communications and Marketing will drive the creation of content that builds awareness and appreciation for the Albany Med Health System and its hospitals. They will oversee the advertising strategy between overall System and campuslevel marketing. They will also support additional needs of communications and marketing on community campuses and in Albany as well as business operations for the department.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with VP of Communications and Marketing and leaders at all System hospitals to develop execute and oversee marketing strategies.
Ensuring the integration and continuity of marketing products between community hospitals and the Health System.
Coordinating System and hospital marketing efforts to ensure consistency in messaging placement and strategy.
Supporting the Albany Med Health Systems mission vision values strategic plan and priorities.
Serving on the Departments creative team.
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with various departments/divisions/units within the System and its campuses.
Tracking service line digital and market data to ensure strategies are effective.
Aligning a multilocated team under the departments guiding principles and the Systems strategic plan.
Supporting the operations of department through the oversight of budget and staff as well as ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
Identifying new opportunities and platforms to expand the marketing footprint.
Managing multiple projects at once and working well under deadlines.
Representing the Communications and Marketing department to leadership at the System and community levels.
Assisting the VP with the business operations of the department including responsibilities for strategy and team and financial management.
Continuing to grow as a marketing professional by remaining informed about the Albany Med Health System its hospitals its people and programs and issues and advances in health care and higher education.
Staying abreast of the latest trends in communications marketing public relations and social and news media.
Performing a variety of other duties as assigned.
