Job Description
Role: Applications Developer
Duration: 4 months
Location: Phoenix AZ 85086
Additional Information Positionlocation is on site. Once the candidate has successfully integrated with the ITteam project team and the project there is an opportunity for the position tomove into a hybrid role.
This position will be a part of a team that is responsiblefor rewriting a legacy application. This position serves as a technical expertfor the Departments Watercraft software applications. Develops newapplications to meet functional and technical designs. Fixes and developschanges to applications to meet functional and technical designs following bestpractices and development standards and guidelines. Analyzes and resolvesissues in applications. Proactively solves complex problems. Supports productionsystems; analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner; resolvesend user service requests as assigned. Completes unit and system testapplication changes to ensure system integrity. Engages with business analystsand stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contributes tocompletion of functional specifications. Prepares technical documentation onapplication specifications prepares and interprets project documentation.Creates deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such asfunctional and technical specifications use cases test cases and systemdocumentation. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
The candidate must have considerable working knowledge ofmultiple programming languages. Considerable experience working with multipledatabase management systems specifically MSSQL and multiple developmentplatforms; this includes experience designing and developing web tools.Familiar with or have a working knowledge of AWS products and services.Considerable experience working in an Agile work environment. The candidatewill have skills in strong customer service interpersonal written and oral communicationvirtual communication critical thinking. Be highly organized to handlemultiple project sprints and deadlines; create project workflows and timelines;project based budgeting. Have skills in the practice of producing efficientcode based on business requirements and reusable/standardized code; testing anddeploying applications; evaluating performance and security of new and existingapplications. Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Workconsistently with thoughtfulness creativity and a high level of detail. Thecandidate will have the ability to balance prioritize and organize multipletasks; work collaboratively in teams and across organizations; synthesizefeedback and adjust plans accordingly; quickly learn and develop in newprogramming languages & APIs. Due to the nature of the project thecandidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work independently througha project management team.
Skills Preferred
MSSQL SQLServer C# MVC .Net Core LINUX GitLab gRpcand/or WCF Informix experience would be useful but not required.
T4 Templates or other templating technology.
Redis and AWS ElastiCache.
Asana project management software(or similar.
Knowledge of integrating printers into web applications andbackend processes.
SSRS for reporting.
Dashboard creation and integration is desirable.
LDAP and AWS Cognito authentication integration is alsodesirable.
Experience Required Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science or Associates degree in Computer Science and 7years of experience.
Experience Preferred Designdevelopment and maintenance of web applications/web database applications.Previous experience working in a government agency. Good communication andorganizational skills.
Education Required Bachelorsdegree in Computer Science or Associates degree in Computer Science and 7years of experience.
Education Preferred PMP(ProjectManagement) certification is a plus.
