The Mission

Financial Markets (FM) is the Banks gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of INGs clients with products services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Within FM in Competitive Pricing area we have ING Pricing Architecture (IPA) platform which consists of multiple components that enable realtime and batch calculations offinancial risk metricsandsimulations(e.g.XVAPFE Value at RiskExpected ShortfallBilateral MarginingpredealderivativesPricing) which are driven by new banking regulations as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates credits foreign exchange). This platform is in the heart of the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms and risk managers in Asia Europe and Americas with aprox. 30 scrum teams spread across 4 locations (Amsterdam Brussels Bucharest and Singapore) cooperating to evolve it towards target ING Financial Markets IT vision.

Your day to day

Even if youll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our offices garden your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

• Monitor support and run the IPA service consisting of multiple components such as the inmemory Trade Store (Java based Apache Ignite Linux technologies distributed systems architecture) as well as the Calculation/Risk Engine the Static Data Manager the workflow Orchestrator and the Post Processing application and soxf on.
• Take care of incident management and root cause analysis in case of unavailability and data quality issues. You communicate directly with users (Traders Credit/Market Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam London Brussels New York and Singapore.
• Implement and work with the latest tooling with a strong focus on performance stability and security
• Find opportunities to automate the testing of existing features performance and security as well as the automation of deployments monitoring and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers.
• IT Risk & security controls need to be put in place and accurately documented for this you will need to get familiar and keep up to date with the ING Information Security Management Policy.
• Continuous deployment and delivery using Azure DevOps
• Through Agile/Scrum collaborate with the other Ops engineers to bring live new sprint releases every 24 weeks to Acceptance and Production.

What youll bring to the team

Experience: 5 years of software engineering / operations experience

Tech stack/ knowledge:

• Mandatory:
  • Advanced knowledge on CI/CD and experience with Git Python Ansible Shell scripting and working experience with JVM based applications
  • Strong Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8 skills.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools such as Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Grafana and tools for alerting like Prometheus
  • Good understanding of the ELK Stack and how to interact with it
  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence ServiceNow Checkmarx
  • Experience or affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts
  • IT Operations/Support experience including Functional support to end users (such as Traders Risk Managers Collateral Managers but could be in another domain/field) combined with analytical skills to identify root causes in workflows incidents (data technical functional).
  • A customer focus with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience.
  • A good team player cross functional enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment
  • Proactive and attentive to others needs

• Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with Oracle 12c/19c with PL/SQL
  • Familiarity with inmemory caching tools such as Apache Ignite (GridGain) or Redis
  • Familiarity with Docker and orchestration for it like Kubernetes or Openshift
  • Good linux networking skills

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education: Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background in Computer Science Cybernetics Software Engineering Financial Engineering or equivalent
