CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Schedules surgical appointments and monitors cancellations keeping daily schedule accurate and current.
2. Completes necessary paperwork prior to preop appointments and obtains referrals and authorizations.
3. Follows up with appropriate departments to ensure that all preop results are available prior to the procedure.
4. Informs patients regarding activities that will take place during the visit and provides pamphlet of appropriate surgical facility.
5. Apprises patients of financial responsibilities prior to the date of the procedure.
6. Adheres to University and unitlevel policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
