Job Description

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules administrative procedures and board polices;
  • Maintains a classroom environment that is safe orderly and conducive to effective learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students;
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes as scheduled;
  • Follows teachers lesson plans and daily schedule; may require lesson plan creation and grading;
  • Follows procedures and guidelines listed in the Dorchester County Substitute Handbook;
  • Completes substitute reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age;
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred;
  • Must pass a criminal background check;
  • Must complete the Safe Schools Training Program;
  • Must attend the DCPS Substitute Workshop.

Pay Schedule: $120 per day. Increases to $135 per day after 16 days in the same position (retroactive to the first day of the assignment). Increases to $175 per day after 45 days in the same position (retroactive to the first day of the assignment).
