Class Summary



Job Description
The Trades Technician position will be responsible for complex installations repairs preventative and general maintenance of damaged trails bridges recsetasides BMPS etc. as well as responding to emergency calls troubleshooting damages and assisting the construction foreman on large projects. This position will consist of working with heavy equipment with instructions from a lead operator in collaboration with trail crew members.

Essential Duties
  • Training and ensuring staff follow the county and departmental policies and procedures
  • Hiring terminating disciplining screening evaluating etc. the current and future staff
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the assigned area
  • Processing daily work requests and assignments
  • Assisting with implementing an operational budget
  • Writing specifications for contracts and projects for assigned areas
  • Assisting with assets management and capital budget preparations
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports for assigned area
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
Public Speaking Duties
  • Hosting section meetings for assigned area
  • Presenting pertinent information in leadership meetings to supervisors and/or upper management
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a preemployment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
Grade
The grade for this position is B313. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma AND
  • Five years of progressively responsible trades experience some of which is in a supervisory capacity
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid Drivers License

These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law.
