Primary Purpose:
The Dean of Operations primary responsibility is to support the schools major operational functionsfacility and IT management transportation registration purchasing school trip logistics duty assignments nutritional operations dining hall/building cleanliness maintenance state/national operational requirements (e.g. fire and lockdown drills) health/wellness programming and support staff oversight. The Dean of Operations collaborates with the Dean of Students & Culture regarding the logistics of school tripsboth intown and outoftown field trips. The Dean makes recommendations for updates/changes to the EPLA student/parent handbook. They consistently work handinhand with the Dean of Instruction to ensure the campus master schedule/bell schedule allows for the effective of all campus operations components. The Dean provides ongoing communication associated with these programs to the Director of Operations on a weekly basis.
Education/Certification
Experience:
- Two years teaching experience in education
- One year operations experience with some supervisory experience (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Working knowledge of state/federal requirements/laws associated with school safety student/staff/visitor COVID regulations transportation requirements purchasing compliance
- Ability to interpret and implement policy and procedures associated with PEIMS Attendance Registration Transportation and Nutritional programming
- Ability to ensure all health/wellness requirements are completed by a designated timeline (e.g. vaccinations hearing/vision screenings spinal assessments)
- Ability to support the use of technology across all campus departments (e.g. technology distribution processes addressing/fixing computerbased issues supporting IT upgrades)
- Ability to lead a team of professionals in providing a learning environment that is conducive to learning
- Ability to provide oneonone support to teachers students families regarding the successful enrollment/registration and attendance processes
- Demonstrate a passion for and commitment to EPLAs mission and educational model
- Strong organizational communication public relations and interpersonal skills
- Personal qualities of maturity humility strong work ethic sense of humor and a dowhatittakes attitude

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
Leadership
- Oversees the planning development organization management direction and implementation of all operational components of the campus
- Monitors and ensures EPLAs compliance with federal and state regulations/laws regarding school safety nutrition program purchases attendance/enrollment health/wellness transportation associated with school trips compliance with code (e.g. health inspections fire drill expectations)
- Demonstrates a high level of professional maturity including emotional constancy in stressful situations ability to bring out the best in others a solution seeker and acts as a positive force to motivate others
- Strategically manages tasks and time is wellorganized and is detailoriented.
- Participates as a strategic member of the Administrative Leadership Team
- Demonstrates full responsibility for executing the mission and vision of EPLA.
- Works jointly with the Dean of Students and Culture in ensuring a campus environment that is joyful clean and conducive to positive academic growth

- Inspires scholars families staff and others to believe in and reflect the schools mission high expectations and values by continually emphasizing the importance of a positive school culture around daytoday operations (e.g. keeping the campus clean maintaining clean restroom facilities adhering to established expectations regarding fire/lockdown drills).
- Establishes a school culture that is centered on core values that ultimately deeply cares for each student and staff member and holds each student and staff member to the highest level of accountability.
- Ensures effective communication with families with respect to student safety dresscode expectations attendance requirements enrollment processes etc.
- Develops and oversees the campus duty assignment schedule for both teachers and administrators

SystemsManagement
- Creates an operations calendar that ensures the completion of all required components by the deadlines established by the charter district and local/state/federal agencies
- Implements systems that sweat the small stuff maximizes the programmatic goals of the school and are scalable as the school grows.
- Develops solutions to complex problems that involve multiple stakeholders and steps.
- Creates purchase orders for any operational expenses needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions review and submit them to the the Director of Operations for review and processing
- Manages with fiscal responsibility while ensuring all needed supplies/materials are available for the successful of the various operational job duties on the campus
Additional Duties
- Works collaboratively with the facilities manager in ensuring a safe clean positive environment for all staff students and guests
- Recruits and assists in the hiring for the positions supervised by the Dean of Operations
- Works with EPLA Leadership Team in providing ongoing staff PD and compliance updates regarding safety and operational practices
- Supports the safety and culture of the campus by performing before school lunch and after school supervision duty assignments
- Attends Admin Team Leadership meetings with the entire campus leadership and individual weekly checkin meetings with the Director of Operations
- Works with Director of Operations ED and corresponding staff on campus recruitment efforts
- Additional duties as assigned.
Supervises: Registrar/PEIMS Clerk Attendance/Nutrition Program Clerk
Additional supervisory responsibilities may develop as the campus increases to capacity.

Computer copier telephone public address system and other equipment applicable to position
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Works with frequent interruptions; maintains emotional control under stress. Lifts heavy objects (i.e. furniture) at times. May be required under specific circumstances to provide physical restraint of scholars in danger of causing harm to themselves or others. Conducts other duties as assigned.
