Chief of Pediatric Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology Associate/Full Professor
The University of Florida Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Chief of Pediatric Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology. This is a faculty position in the nontenure or tenure track with the rank of Associate/Full Professor. The applicant should be boardcertified in Pediatric Rheumatology. The Division Chief will be responsible for program development in all areas of Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology in addition to patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings teaching of pediatric fellows residents and medical students as well as conducting research and supervising the divisions increasing large research program that includes investigatorinitiated registry and pharma funded investigations.
The Division has three boardcertified pediatric rheumatologists as well as six pediatric rheumatology APRNs and two LPNs providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents throughout Florida. Our center of excellence is among the largest in the state and the only ACGMEapproved program in Florida providing pediatric rheumatology fellowship training. We are extremely active in the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and its sub studies and have a fulltime clinical research coordinator and access to other research support through the pediatrics department. We provide training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and have collaborative research and clinical relationships with Adult Rheumatology Orthopedics and PMR including their stateoftheart gait analysis laboratory. The Division includes a pediatric immunologist who directs one of three state funded SCID newborn screening sites and provides care to a large population of children with primary immunodeficiencies as well as immunodeficient patients needing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in collaboration with BMT service and cardiac transplant patients requiring aggressive immunosuppression. There are also two allergists one pediatric allergy APRN and allergy nurses providing cuttingedge comprehensive allergy services to children in North Florida and the Panhandle.

The childrens hospital has 208 beds including fullyequipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development educating and training pediatric scientists and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patientoriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.
UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges as well as those from across the University.
