The School Resource Offer (SRO) position performs general law enforcement work to protect the lives safety health welfare and property of school administrators security staff students at the Eaton School District elementary middle and high schools by enforcing municipal ordinances state statues and laws. Exercises independent judgment in dealing with dangerous or unusual situations and often works under stressful highrisk conditions. The SRO serves as the primary link between the department and the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

SUPERVISION: The SRO position has no direct reports. This position reports to the Sergeant or Corporal and is under the general supervision of the Chief of Police.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
HOURS OF WORK:
This position is fulltime and scheduled for 40 hours per week.
Primarily work Monday through Friday dayshift with occasional evening and weekend shifts for extracurricular activities and games.
When school is not in session the SROs could be assigned to other shifts which could include nights and weekends.
