Job Description
POSITION: Athletic EMT
JOB GOAL: To assist the Athletics Department with medical coverage at games and practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified as an EMT: Massachusetts EMT Certification and/or NREMT Certification
- Current Certification for Basic Life Support Skills (CPR AED and First Aid)
- Prior experience as an Athletic EMT preferred
REPORTS TO:
Athletic Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide medical coverage especially for off site home contests when needed.
- Provide medical coverage for home practices when needed.
- Manage and treat injured athletes during contests/practices under the guidance of the Athletic Trainer.
- Assist the Athletic Trainer with identifying replacement supplies to be ordered.
- Meet with the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer prior to the start of each season to determine when additional medical coverage is necessary.
- Communicate effectively with both the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer when an injury occurs. Provide information and appropriate medical documentation according to District protocols.
- Attend and participate in athletic department preseason sports nights.
- Any other duties as determined by the Athletic Director.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal stipend.
