Job Description
SusieCakes is looking for a parttime Marketing Intern to support social media content creation and community engagement in San Antonio. This role will collaborate closely with the Marketing and Social Media team working approximately 10 20 hours per month. Responsibilities include developing engaging content for the @susiecakesbakery Instagram and TikTok accounts and assisting with local marketing initiatives.
Pay Range: $15 an hour
Candidates must be local to San Antonio and available to work in the bakery for events and content shoots. Were especially interested in individuals with connections to local sororities and businesses in the area.
At SusieCakes we make oldfashioned sentimental dessert favorites just like you may remember from your childhood! Our bakeries are filled with the delicious tastes and sweet smells of cakes cupcakes cookies pies and bars all baked from scratch onsite daily using the freshest and finest ingredients. Our signature Celebration Cake is a birthday staple on tens of thousands of tables. Our bakeries mix the nostalgia of the past with the warmth and feel of a modern neighborhood bakery. Connecting through Celebration is our purpose and what we strive for every day with our team members our guests and our community.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
We are seeking a parttime Marketing Intern to seek out partnership opportunities within the local San Antonio community and assist with social media content creation. This person will work closely with the Marketing and Social Media team and work approximately 10 hours a month. The Marketing Intern will produce engaging and unique content for the @susiecakesbakery Instagram and TikTok accounts as well as assist with local marketing initiatives and events.
Candidates should have strong organizational and project management skills as well as a thorough understanding of social media and influencer marketing. They should have their finger on the pulse of the digital world with the ability to speak to new trends and popular content. With a genuine passion for SusieCakes candidates must serve as a positive representation of the brand and be eager to share it with their local community. This is a hybrid position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Community Engagement:
Support the marketing team with local events deliveries gifting initiatives and other opportunities in the San Antonio area
Research and network with local community groups to build brand awareness (such as student groups or charities)
Keep up with local happenings and propose ideas of new ways to engage throughout the city
Social Media:
Support the social media team in driving brand awareness and encouraging engagement
Film content for the @susiecakesbakery Instagram and TikTok accounts ensuring that it is highquality and onbrand
Keep an eye out for the latest social media trends and propose ideas about how we can show up on these platforms
Work independently to produce regular content by coming up with video concepts filming all original video assets and editing videos to completion (on a mobile device is fine)
BONUS: Comfortable being on camera (to capitalize on trending audio)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidate can quickly commute to our San Antonio Bakery (within 30 minutes)
Must have reliable transportation
Passion for SusieCakes and strong interest in the social and digital space
Significant experience as an Instagram and TikTok user with a deep understanding of the social media ecosystem: trends hashtags music usage functionalities guidelines and platform updates
History of creating content that performed well and drove engagement (whether for a personal account or a brand)
Superior verbal written copy editing and proofreading skills
Creative innovative personality that is always thinking outside of the box
Strong attention to detail responsible and reliable
Positive representation of company values and brand identity with an outgoing and relationshiporiented attitude
Proactive gogetter independent worker and effective communicator
Ability to connect weekly with direct supervisor via videoconferencing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to sit for long periods of time to research trends
Able to use a computer for long periods of time
Able to make and receive phone calls and respond to emails chats or text messages
Able to walk kneel and reach overhead
Able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to occasionally lift move and carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to record footage
Must be able to travel to bakeries close by
EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED required
