Your role

Reporting to the General Management of Information the Director Business and Strategic Planning plays a crucial role in the development of the information sector.


The Director provides strategic support to senior management and the executive committee on major crosscutting issues.


The Director also has a primary role in maintaining internal communications and is responsible for organizing events (management meetings employee meetings etc.. He or she oversees and coordinates training and support its development in line with strategic directions and the evolution of roles.


When necessary the Director takes on the coordination of special projects particularly in relation to RadioCanadas foreign offices.

The director ensures connections with other sectors within the French Services CBC and Corporate Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports senior management in the development of the sectors strategic priorities.

  • Organizes management and employee meetings.

  • Acts as a liaison with Operational and Strategic Planning Regional Media other RadioCanada sectors CBC and Corporate Services.

  • Plays a key role in internal communications within the sector.

  • Establishes training priorities and needs considering the budget.

  • Supports the development of new training programs in line with needs and the evolution of roles.

  • Manages various agreements and collaborations with suppliers or other groups.

  • Oversees certain multisector projects according to strategic directions.

  • Advances the EDI plans Indigenous National Strategy and the sectors Ecoresponsibility Plan in line with CBC/RadioCanada objectives.

  • Coordinates certain special operations including the management of RadioCanadas foreign offices.

  • Monitors media trends.

Your profile:

  • University degree in journalism or any other related field

  • Minimum of ten 10 years of experience in journalism

  • Minimum of five 5 years of experience in management

  • Indepth knowledge of the media ecosystem in Frenchspeaking Canada and public media

  • Understanding of how a multiplatform newsroom operates

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • High degree of autonomy

  • Creativity and vision

  • Ability to challenge the status quo

  • Leadership with influence and teambuilding skills

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of RadioCanada and CBC is an asset

  • Proficiency in Google tools

  • Mastery of French (spoken and written)

  • Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
