Job Summary:

The Division of Comparative Medicine in the College of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a fulltime Staff Assistant.

The Staff Assistant position reports to the Senior Staff Assistant (Department Administrator) and the overall goal of this position is to be of assistance to the administrative operations of the department. Additionally the successful candidate will:

  • Navigate through the Research Protocol and Facilities Management Solution Systems (RPM) to perform the following:
    • Animal ordering
    • Print Cage Cards
    • Remove animals from database or input animal disposition.
    • Manage and input all DCM State and Research Requisition for purpose of cost center tracking.
  • Assist Administrator with:
    • General duties regarding office information
    • Nonanimal supplies
    • Provide information for restock of inventory qualify and quantity of items to be purchases
  • Be in charge of time attendance and overtime records for CSEA employees
  • Serve as SOP coordinator and maintain/updated SOPs in SharePoint
  • Serve as the Department Website Administrator
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned or as business needs warrant

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Familiarity with computer software packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years of responsible work experience related to animal care.
  • Knowledge of RPM a Animal Research Protocol and Facilities Management Database Software Program.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm(FullTime)

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL2

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
