About the Role

The Leadership Institute is hiring a News Editor to support the editorial operations of Campus Reform the nations leading source for conservative college news. Campus Reform serves as a watchdog for higher education exposing liberal bias and abuses on college campuses.

The News Editor will be responsible for writing editing and publishing content supporting social media engagement and helping to train and manage a network of freelance contributors. This role is ideal for a strong writer with a passion for conservative media investigative reporting and digital content strategy.

This is a fulltime inoffice position based in Arlington VA reporting to the Managing Editor.

Key Responsibilities

Content Production: Edit articles covering higher education free speech issues and liberal bias on campus.

Breaking News Reporting: Track and respond emerging stories in the education and political space.

Contributor Support: Assist in training and mentoring freelance correspondents in journalism best practices.

Editorial Research: Monitor education policy and national trends to identify relevant story ideas.

Media Support: Occasionally assist the Managing Editor and Operations Manager in running the Young Journalists Program.

Required Qualifications

3 years of experience in journalism media communications or a related field (internship experience included).

Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of journalistic integrity.

Passion for Campus Reforms mission and a strong interest in conservative politics.

Ability to work in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to factual accuracy.

Willingness to be accessible outside standard business hours when major stories break.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience reporting on higher education free speech or policy issues.

Basic knowledge of social media management and digital engagement strategies.

Previous experience in broadcast media or public speaking.
