- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent or higher and some postsecondary education in basic and advanced survey calculations
- Minimum 3 years of relevant surveying experience including running a total station GPS and levels
- Thorough understanding of survey principles and techniques

Conditions of employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers licence (or provincial equivalent).Obtaining and maintaining a City Drivers permit is a requirement of this position
Working Environment:
- Ability to perform field survey activities in various weather and environmental conditions including walking long distances 1015 kilometers) digging with a pick or shovel and pounding stakes
- Compliance with the City of Edmontons safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this position

What will you do:
- Operate various survey instruments in a responsible and timely manner
- Upload download and process survey information using survey software
- Perform topographic and construction surveys using GPS and conventional survey tools
- Perform survey calculations utilizing calculators and survey software
- Load the survey van with supplies to perform daily assigned tasks
- Plan organize and coordinate playground construction layout large scale landscaping encroachments topographical construction return and miscellaneous surveys
- Assist in performing construction layout surveys preliminary design surveys control surveys asbuilt surveys topographical surveys and other miscellaneous surveys
- Consult with Survey Technicians Engineers Designers Consultants and Survey Supervisors to establish project deliverables
- Ensure all material is restocked and equipment is accounted for and maintained daily
- Maintain a variety of survey timekeeping reports records and digital survey files
- Perform other related duties as required
