The opportunity

As a Process Engineering Technician within our Eyepiece Process R&D team you will play a critical role in R&D precision engineering and prototyping. Youll be working in a fastpaced handson environment operating and maintaining highprecision manufacturing and process equipment. In this role you will collaborate closely with engineers to execute experiments and refine processes build and test prototypes ensuring quality and efficiency and troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes to support innovation.Success in this role requires a detailoriented mindset strong problemsolving skills and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team.

Location:This position requires being fully onsite at our Austin TX facility to ensure seamless collaboration and handson support for daily operations. Relocation assistance is available for nonlocal candidates.

What youll do

  • Operate and maintain precision manufacturing and process equipment especially wafer to mask alignment and vacuum deposition utilizing best practices to produce highquality R&Dlevel prototypes and assemblies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to execute experiments and prototype production ensuring process precision and consistency.
  • Perform detailed inspections of completed work using advanced microscopy techniques including optical microscopes defect inspection systems CMM and optical analysis instruments.
  • Document and report results from experimental and process development work
  • Analyze defects and process deviations working with engineers to troubleshoot and improve performance.

The experience you bring

  • Associates degree 5 years of experience) or a Bachelors degree 2 years of experience) in engineering material science physics or a related field.
  • Handson experience in semiconductor micro/nanofabrication or precision prototyping preferably in a cleanroom environment.
  • Proficiency operating manual semiautomated and automated fabrication tools.
  • Experience with microscopy and metrology tools including optical microscopes CMM and defect inspection systems.
  • Strong documentation skills ability to track process details maintain organized spreadsheets and generate reports.
  • Basic data analysis ability to collect analyze and summarize findings.

Its exciting if you also have

  • PVD & Photolithography Experience with Physical Vapor Deposition thin films optics and photolithography processes.
  • Precision Machining & Prototyping Ability to fabricate and assemble prototypes interpret engineering drawings and work with GD&T and precision cutting tools.
  • Advanced Metrology & Inspection Familiarity with ellipsometers optical spectrometers SEM and manual microscope alignment.
  • CAD & Technical Programming Proficiency in AutoCAD setting tool parameters or applying geometry and trigonometry to validate designs.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting Experience using JMP MATLAB or Excel for statistical analysis.
  • Equipment Installation & Maintenance Background in installing qualifying and maintaining precision tools.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical Requirements This role is primarily based in a Class 100 cleanroom environment requiring the ability to suit up and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods. The position involves operating precision equipment and utilizing a variety of microscope and metrology tools to perform detailed inspections and process evaluations.
