Job Description

Job Title: Supervisor I Technology Operations
Department: Information Technology

Pay Grade: P100
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Manager IV User Support

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for supporting and coordinating technology operations and projects ensuring quality support troubleshooting and optimization of district systems while collaborating with district staff to meet IT and educational technology needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage the full lifecycle of district technology assets (e.g. computers printers A/V equipment servers switches) from procurement to disposal.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and tracking of all districtowned devices and equipment.
  • Oversee deployment maintenance and support of specialized technologies including 3D printers document cameras Interactive Flat Panels and A/V systems.
  • Administer the districts print management solution including printer inventory deployment software configuration and cost tracking.
  • Supervise warehouse IT operations including equipment storage distribution and tracking.
  • Lead device deployment efforts ensuring proper setup configuration and districtwide distribution.
  • Provide advanced support for complex device issues escalated by technology staff.
  • Coordinate and support technologyrelated projects in collaboration with district teams.
  • Conduct oversight and provide support at multiple district locations.
  • Deliver training and create user documentation for staff on supported technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate products resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies security standards and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum four 4 years of jobrelated experience in IT support project management or related responsibilities.

Certificates Licenses and Other Special Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Drivers License with evidence of insurability.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance as required by the district.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of algebra and/or geometry; review and interpret highly technical information write technical materials and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include knowledge of A/V systems printing solutions and equipment inventory management basic networking concepts and project management processes and methodology.
  • Skill to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job including: utilizing pertinent networks applications operating system monitoring and troubleshooting software; adhering to safety practices; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions.
  • Ability to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to schedule a number of activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify data; and use jobrelated equipment.
  • Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups.
  • Ability to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking/problem solving to improve work processes.
  • Ability to convey technical information to nontechnical audiences.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work environment is primarily inside where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
  • The work requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes express or exchange ideas by the spoken word substantial movements (motions) with the hands wrists and/or fingers and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
  • Additionally the following physical abilities are required: balancing climbing crawling crouching feeling grasping handling hearing kneeling manual dexterity mental acuity reaching repetitive motion speaking standing stooping talking visual acuity and walking.
