Overview

The office in Mechanicsburg PA is looking for an Electrical Engineer with interest in Movable Bridge Design. This position is also available in Ft Lauderdale FL

Movable Bridge Unit:

Focuses on the structural mechanical and electrical design of movable bridges of all types. Projects include new design of movable structures structural mechanical and electrical inspection and rehabilitation of existing bridges. Our instrumentation group is housed in this unit and focuses on short term monitoring of bridges and other structures using a wide variety of gauges and instrumentation. Structural Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as well as CADD Technicians make up the staff of this unit.

As a Mechanical Engineer with Modjeski and Masters you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team youll be immediately responsible for performing Mechanical Engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Youll have opportunities to interact directly with clients become a valued partner on a variety of highimpact projects and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridges life cycle. Description

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Internship
    • Ideal candidate will be working towards aBS in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from anABET accredited College or University
  • For Entry Level Positions
    • At minimum a completed BS in Civil Engineering from anABET accredited College or University
    • Ideal candidates will have a valid EIT certification or in the process of obtaining.

General Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical control systems for manual automatic or remotely controlled movable bridge operations.
  • Design power distribution systems for roadway lighting transportation facility and movable bridge projects.
  • Develop details and wiring diagrams for various electrical components and systems.
  • Perform field inspections and evaluations of movable bridge roadway lighting and transportation facility electrical systems and write reports based on findings.
  • Assist with movable bridge electrical and control system startup procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • FullTime EntryLevel Positions
    • Our hybrid work policy involves a mandatory minimum of twodays per week inoffice
    • Approximately 10%of the work consists of field work involving travel. Our projects can be located anywhere in the US or internationally which would involve air travel and/or overnight stays.
  • Internship positions are in office 5 days or week (or per agreed upon schedule)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with basic electrical threephase power calculations.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders stairways and perform work on walkways and platforms at high elevations on bridge superstructures during field assignments.
  • Good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills.
