We are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer who will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability performance and availability of the organizations IT systems by designing implementing and maintaining the infrastructure tools and processes necessary for efficient software development deployment and operations. The DevSecOps Engineer collaborates with development security and IT operations teams automates workflows and ensures seamless delivery of highquality applications.

Responsibilities include provisioning configuring and monitoring the infrastructure resources for systems hosted in our AWS and/or our Azure cloud environment.

Our team support a wide range of development teams who are looking to modernize their applications via a containerfirst strategy.

Lincoln Nebraska & Centennial Colorado Candidates This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of worklife integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates to work remotely for part of the week while also fostering collaboration and team connection through inoffice presence three days per week.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
An ideal team member will be a DevSecOps Engineer who has solid experience with many of these technologies however select specialization in just a few will also be considered with great interest.
1. Design build and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.


2. Implement best practices for automated testing code quality checks and deployment automation.

3. Work heavily with Microsoft cloud hosted code management services for repositories pipelines (Azure DevOps and Boards GitHub and GitHub Actions).

4. Deploy manage and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes. Understand Kubernetes concepts such as pods services deployments and namespaces.
5. Evaluate system performance identify potential bottlenecks develop solutions and implement change via the change management process
6. Design implement and monitor enterprisegrade secure faulttolerant systems (e.g. Datadog Azure Application Insights)
7. Define and evolve Build & Release best practice by working within teams and educating the other stakeholder teams. These best practices should support traceability & auditability of change.
8. Ensure continuous availability of various DevOps tools supporting Software Configuration Management (SCM) & Release Management including Source Control Continuous Integration & Change Management.
9. Work with crossfunctional teams in design development and implementation of enterprise scalable features related to enabling higher developer productivity environment monitoring and selfhealing and facilitate autonomous delivery teams.
10. Build infrastructure automation tools and frameworks
11. Integrate newly developed and existing applications into cloud environments
12. Automate deployment pipelines in a scalable secure and reliable manner
13. Leverage application monitoring tools to troubleshoot and diagnose environment issues
14. Have a culture of automation where any repetitive work is automated including automation of security controls
15. Work closely with Cloud Infrastructure Security and Development teams to ensure organizational best practices policies and procedures are followed

16. Handson experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure). Multicloud experience is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

1. 3 years of experience with AWS DevOps cloud architecture networking deployment processes and infrastructure as code tools

2. Industry certifications (e.g. Azure AWS Kubernetes)

3. Experience solving complex problems creating algorithms and working through challenging requirements
4. Experience creating software in an agile iterative environment

COMPETENCIES SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

2. Educates teams on adoption and support of DevSecOps practices and tooling
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to communicate technical concepts and strategies at all levels of the organization
4. Must be detail oriented critical thinker possess excellent problemsolving skills
5. Ability to coach mentor and teach team members and handle a dynamic work environment
6. Effective organization and time management skills

7. Strong programming skills (Python Bash or PowerShell)

8. Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines in a globally distributed environment

9. Understanding of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

10. Familiarity with Git Docker and container orchestration.

Pay range for this role is $90000$110000 annually depending on experience.
