Groundskeeper

SUMMARY:

Responsible for routine work in caring for and the maintenance of school grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following...

• To trim shrubbery and to maintain shrubs and flower beds.
• To mow seed and fertilize lawns.
• To operate a variety of automotive and landscaping equipment.
• To assist with custodial duties carpentry repair of landscaping equipment and painting.
• To perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. • High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Ability to follow rough sketches and oral instruction.
• Knowledge of methods and equipment in the care or maintenance of school grounds and/or the ability to be trained in the area of landscape maintenance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Demonstrates command of Standard English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work involves operation of landscaping equipment and physical tasks.

• Aboveaverage amount of walking bending standing stooping and lifting in work environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• 260 day contract

• Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of personnel.
