The Engineer Electrical role focuses on developing functional and reliable electrical systems for heavyduty vehicles. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Senior Electrical and Controls Engineers and contribute to electrical electromechanical and embedded software design projects.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under close supervision perform basic engineering calculations investigations and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support Senior Engineers in the preparation of basic plans designs computation methods and/or reporting.
  • Contribute to crossfunctional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
  • Under close supervision will design electrical and electromechanical parts and components to correct parameters and specifications while incorporating quality cost reliability and ease of manufacturing.
  • Will support perform testing debugging and validation of electrical and embedded software systems.
  • Support Senior Engineers with basic and accurate calculations analysis and investigation according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype pilot or production builds including resolution of problems in manufacturing.
  • Process engineering information through change notices change proposals and the creation of thorough print documentation.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Direct inperson collaboration with the engineering team requires this position to be 100 on site.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with Internship experience or six 6 months or more related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C or Python
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink dSPACE and Autosar
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or controls software a plus
  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or Vehicle Networking.
  • Automotive/Heavy Equipment Repair or Design Experience.
  • Wire harness and/or printed circuit board design experience a plus.

Pay Range:

$63500.00 $101700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
