JOB SUMMARY
The School Technology Specialist is responsible for schoolbased technical support for students and staff to ensure working technology hardware and software to fulfill educational requirements and needs. This position acts as a liaison between building staff and the Technology Department providing twoway communication and implementing technologies as directed by the department.
Works under the leadership of the technology department. Independently resolves routine and less complex user problems. Coordinates with other technology staff and/or supervisor in referring or resolving more complex issues. Work is evaluated based on overall success of assisting users and resolving problems consistent with district and technology department policies directives and standard practices and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the district technology administrator in consultation with the building administrator(s).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a classroom environment and/or computer lab setting; may experience frequent interruptions; may be required to deal with distraught or angry students. Physical requirements include operating computer equipment moving and lifting computer equipment and related peripherals (bending pushing repetitive motions kneeling and stooping). Must have physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. The workplace has exposure to varying levels of dust and/or heat.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Skill and experience working with schoolage children preferred. Experience in personal computer operating systems.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students teachers district staff and the public. Knowledge of effective uses of technology in curriculum; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to work with minimum supervision; demonstrated initiative and problemsolving skills; basic troubleshooting of Macintosh and PC computers and peripherals; and technical knowledge of network use hardware and software.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Ability to operate computers and learn specific software applications.
Salary:Salary is based upon the currentESP Salary Schedule(Level I); placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA NonExempt.
Work Year: Hours and days vary.
