The Open Education and Scholarly Communications Librarian leads the University Libraries support for open access publishing open educational resources (OER) affordable course materials and related initiatives. They manage promote and report on the Libraries services for faculty using creating and publishing OER and serve as a subject expert on scholarly communications topics. This role works closely with library colleagues and university partners to advocate and work for more open equitable and sustainable practices in research and education.
Additionally the Open Education and Scholarly Communications Librarian will:
Collaborate with department colleagues to administer the Libraries institutional repository and library publishing services
Work independently and collaboratively to identify and address future campus needs related to the creation and dissemination of digital scholarship
As a tenuretrack library faculty member engage in scholarly and creative activities (e.g. conducting research publishing articles presenting at professional conferences)
Provide multimodal instruction to students both inperson and online using education technology in First Year Writing program and other relevant areas.
Provide regular service to the institution profession and/or community (e.g. university governance committees professional organizations etc.
Engage in regular professional development (with support from the Libraries and University)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) or equivalent
Knowledge of issues and practices in the creation and use of OER
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences
Comfort balancing multiple priorities and roles in response to changing contexts and new opportunities
Experience managing or leading a project group project or program
Demonstrated commitment and action to advance inclusion diversity equity and accessibility
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading or administering grant programs or other initiatives to support the use and creation of OER open access publishing and similar practices
Knowledge of issues and trends in open access academic publishing copyright and other scholarly communications topics
Knowledge of or experience developing and delivering instructional programming
Experience creating publishing and/or revising OER
Knowledge of good practices for creating accessible digital and web content
Experience developing and delivering workshops promotional materials or other content for outreach education and advocacy
Familiarity with or ability to learn tools and software for OER development (e.g. Pressbooks LibreText PreTeXt/Runestone Adobe Indesign etc.

Salary & Benefits:
Salary range: $52000$65000; commensurate with experience
