Job Summary
The Plant Support Engineer identifies troubleshoots and resolves plant issues and acts as a liaison between engineering team and Operations Production and Maintenance departments. This position works with occasional supervision or direction to form assigned tasks and coordinate assigned initiatives through completion. The position will maintain effective working relationships with others.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Supports Maintenance and Operations in system troubleshooting and recommends course of action toengineering managementfor approval regarding troubleshooting significant events or complex plant problems.
- Interfaces with Maintenance and Operations for cost effective maintenance strategies.
- Issues engineering changes (Design changes and temporary modifications) to supportONLINE work schedule emergent plant issues and equipment reliability issues.
- Helps support planning and prioritization aspects of project life cycle.
- Implements action plans of senior team members to address deficiencies via the corrective action and work management processes.
- Supports changes in system configuration/design and design basis.
- Develops engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
- Participates in project teams for critical online system outagesand/or refueling outages.
- Serves on outage engineering support teams.
- Attends training and maintains qualifications necessary to perform required group functions.
- Be part of the Emergency Response Organization
- Be Selfsufficient and able to selfmanage workload with minimal supervisor oversight
Education Experience and Skill Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Nuclear Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.
- Experience in nuclear power design EngineeringSystems Engineering operations or equivalent required. All levels of experience will be considered but a minimum of 4 years engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience with anEFIN (Engineering Fix It Now) organization is highly desired
- Excellent communication skills required
- SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license strongly preferred
- Physical ability and desire to support plant walk downs and inspections.
- Experience/proficiency in PC use and engineeringspecific applicationsand Electrical Print reading.
* Final pay grade will be determined based on experience and qualifications
