The role of a teaching partner at Paul Cuffee School is an important one that adds to the overall sense of community amongst both students and teachers. A successful teaching partner should possess the following characteristics:

The job of a teaching partner includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- supervision of students at arrival breakfast lunch transitions study and/or dismissal during inschool suspension and at any time when students are present
- assist teachers/advisors in a variety of ways:
- help organize materials
- check in with students at beginning and/or end of day to help them with organization
- assist students with classwork and/or projects
- make copies
- work with small groups or individual students to preview or review lessons
- checkin homework take attendance (if the teacher requests this)
- correct papers
- actively participate in class activities advisory circle times field trips etc.
- Maintain high expectations and school rules for students and enforce those expectations and rules consistently fairly and respectfully
- Work as part of our behavioral system as assigned
- If eligible act as the substitute when teachers are absent
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in an educationrelated field OR Completion of a Teacher Assistant PreEmployment Program approved by the RI Department of EducationAND a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
- National background check (after offer)
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
