Job Description

Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute seeking a Career Navigator for a temporary fulltime grantfunded role (through December 2025 as part of an initiative supported by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. The Career Navigator will be responsible for enhancing the connections between schools students and employers with a key focus on executing the programs and objectives of House Enrolled Act 1002 (HEA 1002.

This position demands a missiondriven individual who excels in problemsolving communication and program implementation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for career development and student success. Major responsibilities include:

Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and community partners.

Collaborate with schools and employer groups to organize and deliver Career Discovery Meetings as outlined in HEA 1002.

Manage the enrollment and administration of Career Scholarship Accounts (CSA) for eligible students.

Actively engage with school districts employers and community organizations to establish a comprehensive career awareness continuum.

Provide oneonone or smallgroup career navigation support for selected students.

Participate in Career Navigation Training and Certification programs and contribute to the schools completion of the Indiana Career Advising Framework crosswalk.

Provide responsive and strategic support to address challenges by collaborating across various entities.

Develop and execute effective career navigation strategies.

Collect monitor and analyze program data to ensure goals are being met.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in education counseling career development or a related field.

Proven experience in building school and community partnerships.

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including students educators and employers.

Strong knowledge of career pathways workforce development or education policy.

Experience with data tracking reporting and using data to inform decisionmaking.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with virtual communication platforms (e.g. Zoom Teams).

Masters degree in education counseling career development or a related field.

Five or more years of experience in education workforce development or career services.

Experience implementing career advising frameworks or similar initiatives.

Familiarity with the Indiana Career Advising Framework and HEA 1002.

Previous experience working with grantfunded programs or projects.

Demonstrated experience in project management including the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and initiatives.

Experience in program development implementation and evaluation.
