Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to support our NOAA customer located in Melbourne FL.
The GOESR Program is a foursatellite mission that includes GOESR (GOES16 launched in 2016 GOESS (GOES17 launched in 2018 GOEST (GOES18 launched in 2022 and GOESU (GOES19 launched June 2024. The GOESR program is a collaborative effort between NOAA and NASA. NASA builds and launches the satellites for NOAA which operates them and distributes their data to users worldwide. The satellites provide critical data for weather forecasts and warnings detecting and monitoring environmental hazards like fire smoke fog volcanic ash and dust and monitoring solar activity and space weather.
GOES19 continues the advanced imaging lightning mapping and space weather monitoring its sister satellites in the GOESR Series provide and also carries a new space weather monitoring instrument. As part of NOAAs Space Weather FollowOn Program the first Compact Coronagraph (CCOR known as CCOR1 images the solar corona (the outer layer of the suns atmosphere) to help detect and characterize coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs are large expulsions of plasma from the corona and are the primary cause of geomagnetic storms which can cause widespread damage to power grids satellites and communication and navigation systems on Earth.
Responsibilities:
- Supports software configuration audits to verify they conform to the published baseline
- Supports creation and delivery of software change requests as described in the GGSS CM procedures
- Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented comply with standard hardware configurations and are logistically sustainable
- Implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use
- Supports CFE/GFE hardware inventory and yearly customer audits
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
- Additional 4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance
- Experience working with ClearCase/ClearQuest
- Experience with RedHat Linux
- Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors Highly organized with strong attention to detail Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization.
