Job Description

Position: Senior Storekeeper 40 Hours per Week/12 Months)

Food Services Department

Reports To:

Director of Food Services Assistant Director of Food Services. Directly reports to District Kitchen Manager.

Requirements:

  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be willing to work with others and interact with kitchen staff
  • Must be able to read and write communications to/from the administration
  • Must be neat in appearance and exhibit dedicated work habits
  • Must comply with safety and sanitation regulations as prescribed by law
  • Must comply with dress code as designated by the Food Service Department
  • Must be competent working with computers and email

Physical demands include:

Continuous lifting standing manual dexterity walking handling bending pushing pulling and constant visual assessment. With occasional need for climbing and squatting. Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs without restriction.

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Credentials:

Experience in Food Service operations

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Deliver to all schools all products as required to operate the Food & Nutrition Department
  • Must use truck refrigeration as required
  • All products must be delivered and stored as required and to the satisfaction of the Head of Kitchen (i.e. frozen food in the freezer perishables in the refrigerator etc.
  • Rotates stock using FIFO at the time of delivery
  • Performs inventory at the request and intervals as directed by the Food Service Director or the District Kitchen Manager
  • Collects and delivers communication folders between all schools and the Food Service Office presently located at the Kennedy Longfellow
  • Receive store organize and inventory USDA commodities at CRLS and KLO
  • Deliver meals to all schools as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the delivery truck
  • Check truck oil and other fluids weekly
  • Report truck maintenance problems to the District Kitchen Manager
  • Secure truck in assigned parking area
  • All other duties as assigned

Salary:

Salary in accordance with Local 1611 AFSCME contract.
