Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Registered Nurse with experience or a desire in quality improvement to join our Quality & Risk team at Gold Coast Private Hospital in a part time role 7 shifts per fortnight.

About the role
Reporting directly to the Quality and Risk Manager you will assist with the facilitation implementation and monitoring of the Hospitals clinical safety and quality framework.

This role will be pivotal in supporting the Quality & Risk Manager and Executive team to facilitate ongoing implementation and monitoring of the Hospitals clinical safety and quality framework.

You will assist with the implementation of quality improvement initiatives projects and activities to maintain patient safety accreditation standards regulatory compliance and patient experience in accordance with the mission vision and values

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a stateoftheart 340bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including but not limited to 24/7 Emergency Care Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastic Surgery ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

As a Quality & Risk Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Participate and implement within the Hospital wide quality improvement program promoting risk management to support the strategic direction
  • Understand and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance processes aligned with accreditation requirements.
  • Provide effective leadership in quality and risk management to assist managers to continuously review their practices
  • Participation in clinical data collection collation and analysis
  • Participate and coordinate case review investigations
  • Coach Managers in quality improvements building an understanding whilst providing support and confidence with Quality activities.
  • Assist with driving exceptional patient experience and outcomes through provision of continuous and collaborative care working in partnership with patients families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to staff &/or patients and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Report and learn from adverse events and near misses to improve quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with other National standard managers by assisting with projects such as Hand Hygiene Auditing and staff health promotion.

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards
  • Must have clinical knowledge (previous experience as a Registered Nurse)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to liaise across varying levels of management
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
