Extended Year Program
Related Service Providers
6week programs begin July 1 2025 and end August 7 2025 (No School on 7/4
5week programs begin July 7 2025 and end August 7 2025
Related Services Providers (OT PT Speech BCBA): $45/hour
Teacher and RSP Position Descriptions
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and Extended School Year Coordinators the Special Education Teacher will provide instruction and support in the districts ESY programs.
Training and Experience Expectations: Teachers/RSP
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education
- One year of special education teaching experience
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification as a Special Educator (Severe or Moderate)
Requirements/Duties
- Attend an orientation meeting prior to the start of ESY in June 2025
- Review class roster; send personalized letter welcoming each student to programprior to the start of ESY
- Review folder for each ESY student including IEP Progress Reports BehaviorPlans and Work Samples Prior to the start of ESY.
- Submit field trip requests prior to the start of the program (if appropriate forassigned class)
- Take daily attendance and provide communication with families as necessary forthe duration of the ESY program
- Review IEP and verify each students ESY therapy schedule
- Prepare lesson plans in conjunction with individualized student IEP goals at thestart of each week
- Provide comprehensive instruction individualized to the needs of each student
- Oversee assigned classroom paraprofessionals and ensure adequatecommunication relative to individualized student needs
- Collect data in conjunction with student IEP goals
- Compile data and prepare ESY progress reports due by August 15 2025
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the ESY Coordinators or the Director of Special Education
