Job Summary

1. Perform manual labor
2. Pull up carpet
3. Lift desks couches beds etc. on a daily basis
4. Carry and stack concrete blocks
5. Participate in fire watch duty: patrol the residence hall on a scheduled rotation for potential emergent situations

$16.00 per hour

Must be able to consistently lift up to 75 pounds unassisted up and down stairways.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans 403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
