Job Description
Downer Rail and Transit Systems is looking for a dynamic Major Modifications Production Manager to join our team in Pakenham VIC on a fulltime fixedterm 6month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead major modifications drive operational excellence and contribute to impactful projects within a fastpaced and innovative environment. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a passion for safety production management and team development.
Downer invites applications for the role of Major Modifications Production Manager for our HighCapacity Metro Trains (HCMT) project. This is your chance to lead and deliver highimpact engineering changes in a cuttingedge rail industry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Roll out and enforce Site Safety Procedures and Processes for production activities including reporting resolving and providing feedback on safety concerns initiatives and INX actions.
- Conduct safety investigations as required and actively foster a safe and healthy work environment.
- Drive and manage facilities and workplace inspection programs effectively.
Core Deliverables
- Lead rework activities to implement engineering changes to the HCMT.
- Support planning and scheduling of rework tasks/ECPs with stakeholders.
- Ensure successful endtoend completion of rework tasks per schedule from QC to WO/ECP closure.
- Track action status against agreed implementation schedules and escalate issues that may affect readiness dates to the management team.
- Coordinate and liaise with the CRRC JV partner and subsuppliers as needed.
- Develop standardized processes and rectification strategies.
- Enhance the skills of the Reworks team and team leaders.
- Work towards reducing QC rejects.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in Production Management and Team Leadership ideally in the rail industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint Excel Word) with familiarity in Power Platform (BI Automate) highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a resultsdriven mindset.
