Job Description
We are seeking an engineering manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for managing the 3P Demand Service which facilitates the realtime retrieval of bid candidates from multiple demand sources. This service utilizes OpenRTB as the standard protocol for communication with DSPs (Demand Side Platforms). The team plays a crucial role in standardizing the handling of thirdparty ads for Pinterest necessitating strong collaboration and partnership with both internal teams and external DSPs.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the customization and integration of new DSPs as well as integrating new demand pools within existing DSP frameworks. The engineering manager is expected to provide technical and strategic direction resolve ambiguities in both technical and product areas and ensure clear decisionmaking. Additionally the manager will be responsible for fostering the growth of team members establishing a longterm roadmap and delivering results that contribute directly to Pinterests success. A key focus is on balancing technical debt and operational efficiency to drive innovation and maintain highperformance standards.

- Draw in recruit guide and motivate a diverse group of outstanding engineers
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere where everyone can excel
- Direct the team in developing and sustaining scalable and expandable distributed systems for thirdparty ads integration to effectively meet business demands
- Set and uphold a high bar for technical excellence and production quality
- Supervise initiatives for operational excellence ensuring system reliability and efficient incident handling
- Collaborate closely with product managers data scientists tech leads other crossfunctional teams and external partners to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
What were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in computer science a related field or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience as an engineering manager
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in designing large scale production systems as a hands on software engineer
- Experience leading a team of engineers through a significant feature or product launch
- Strong mentorship and coaching abilities
- Knowledge with distributed systems
- Strong problemsolving skills
- (Nice to have) Experience with ad serving platform supplyside platform
