Masters Degree in public health healthcare management health informatics or related field required
Minimum of 7 10 years experience in healthcare field and/or related Project Management skills required
Demonstrated experience in project management leadership
Demonstrated expertise in maneuvering clinical databases and working with administrative healthcare (e.g. billing data claims) and clinical data
Demonstrated experience in translating data needs to programming counterparts
Demonstrated expertise in managing working relationships in a matrixed structure
Experience in promoting healthcare provider behavior change is desirable
Previous leadership experience preferred

Travel to various BWH/BWPO campus locations as well as to other PHS facilities

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Manager for Clinical Performance Reporting Analytics and Evaluation is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of short and longterm strategies related to data aggregation reporting and use at local sites (e.g. divisions departments practices). The Manager works with the Chief Medical Officer Associate and Assistant Medical Directors Director of Population Health Director of Clinical Program Evaluation Primary Care Leadership Directors of Performance Improvement and other department constituents to prioritize data needs related to Population Health Management and Clinical Care Redesign initiatives as well as other performance improvement efforts and clinical programs. S/he works in collaboration with the Medical Management leadership team to design and direct the strategy and resource deployment in the following keys areas:
Performance Reporting
Project Analysis
Program Evaluation
The Manager will be responsible for contributing to and executing the strategy of the Medical Management team. Under the direction of the Director of Population Health the Manager is also responsible for centralizing key reporting efforts within the Medical Management team and the Brigham and Womens Hospital (BWH) departments. Specifically this leader will foster collaboration between departments and data owners facilitate data requests analyze data and work with interdepartmental staff to develop reports that will help monitor and track outcomes on various performance improvement initiatives and clinical programs. S/he will insure that information flows smoothly between project teams Medical Directors and BWPO and BWH leaders. In addition s/he will support the efforts to empower departments leaders and clinicians to access and utilize data to increase engagement around Population Health Management and Clinical Care Redesign including Program Evaluation efforts. This work will also include developing a strategy to integrate and utilize data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) across initiatives as appropriate.
The Manager will also coordinate efforts within the BWPO staff and across the Physician OnLine Reporting (POLR) team the MGH Laboratory of Computer Science (LCS) Center for Clinical Excellence (CCE) Decision Support and Analysis and Planning teams Partners IS Partners Community Physician Organization (PCPO) and Partners Healthcare System (PHS).
S/he will provide functional supervision and work to advance and refine data analytic and programming standards and skills of project staff to include two Data Analysts. Additionally s/he will have the ability and expectation to indirectly manage team members within a matrixed organization who may work directly on his/her initiatives but have a separate direct HR reporting relationship. Both direct and indirect management responsibilities include completing or contributing to the annual performance review creating plans for developing competencies and providing coaching and mentorship.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaise with BWPO and BWH leadership Primary Care leadership Directors of Performance Improvement PCPO and other constituents to prioritize data needs related to Population Health Management Clinical Care Redesign Program Evaluation initiatives and other performance improvement projects
Act as a collaborator and influencer between Brigham Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Partners Information Systems (IS) and data teams
Attend and participate in meetings and committees within the BWPO and Partners Healthcare System to keep abreast of current issues that may affect the departments programs
Explore new technology or new ways of using existing technology to improve ability to report accurate and timely data to physicians
Responsible for implementation and ongoing management of medical management and quality improvement activities under contracts and other medical management projects specific to the BWPO
Insure communication and smooth information flow between collaborators including but not limited to team members POLR team CCE LCS Physicians BWPO and MGPO administration BWH leadership EDW and PCPO or PHS staff
Design a comprehensive data & reporting team that evaluates and advances the work of the Medical Management team and optimizes existing and evolving data resources
Responsible for the development and of agendas implementation plans performance reports strategic plans proposals and other relevant materials to support project teams
Develops team specific goals strategies targets and outcome measures
Collaborate with team members to implement performance plan with time lines
Oversee the management of several databases to track progress of existing clinical programs
Oversee team specific data analysis and drilldown reporting to examine performance/outcomes on specific team initiatives
Supervise the progression and completion of projects assigned to project staff
Interview hire orient train and conduct yearly evaluations for staff
Precept mentor and provide training as needed for staff
Annually reflect on competencies included in the BWPO Medical Management Team Competency Model and engage with supervisor to create an action plan for those competencies that may require further development
Other duties as assigned by Director of Population Health Assistant/Associate Medical Directors and/or BWPO Chief Medical Officer
