Job Description

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Clinician Program. Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant Clinician in the state of Massachusetts. Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to oneself or to patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development family systems and cultural background. Basic Skills / Abilities Required Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language. Must demonstrate basic skills in math and computer science. Must demonstrate knowledge of physical therapy measurement tools and treatment procedures to manage the rehabilitation program at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Must demonstrate effective problemsolving skills to complete responsibilities and practice within the scope of a Physical Therapist Assistant Clinician as per Massachusetts Practice Act and APTA guidelines. Must demonstrate skill in teaching others and in selfassessment of learning needs strengths and professional goals. Must demonstrate basic skills at successful interpersonal relationships and providing leadership/direction to supportive personnel. Must demonstrate effective management and organizational skills to complete all aspects of direct and indirect patient care as expected of a Physical Therapist Assistant Clinician. May maintain variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening holidays weekends and travel). Seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for per diem status for the Boston Center for Rehabilitation & Subacute Care located in West Roxbury for day W/Es shift hours can be flexible.Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program; current MA State license required. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Clinician carries out prescribed treatment program: Demonstrates the ability to discuss and/or explain results of physical therapy evaluation as documented in the medical record. Performs measurement skills correctly and in logical sequence. Recognizes and discusses the need to modify skills appropriately based upon patients age medical or psychosocial condition and cultural background. Describe and discuss with the primary Physical Therapist Clinician the patients overall status and implications for physical therapy including modification of patient goals treatment plan procedures and discharge and equipment needs. Execute home visits when indicated. Ensure procurement of equipment and services prior to discharge. Executes physical therapy program as prescribed by primary Physical Therapist Clinician. Document all patient information within established time lines thoroughly accurately and on appropriate forms. Provide timely written information to other health care providers insurance representatives or equipment vendors. Accurately document administrative information for the program. Consistently communicate patient status and progress with the primary Physical Therapist Clinician. Provide effective verbal and nonverbal communication with patients families and peers during all interactions including direct care rounds clinics family team conferences and patient outcome meetings. 5. Display professional behavior at all times. Demonstrate initiative with program activities and in personal professional growth and development. Be dependable cooperative and flexible. Attend all programs. Provide education and training to the following persons: Patients and families as prescribed in the treatment plan per primary Physical Therapist Clinician. Department orientees Physical Therapist Assistant Clinicians physical therapy aides. Other health professionals. Student affiliates or interns. Visitors volunteers or other guests. Meet or exceed established level of productivity per day. Manage equipment and space efficiently and effectively. Follow all program and Physical Therapy policies and procedures. Exhibits courtesy compassion and respect to patients families visitors physicians and coworkers and adheres to established customer service standards.
