Job Description
BS in Computer Science field or equivalent training required Experience building and debugging software projects
1. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team of scientist engineers and medical doctors
2 Ability to diagnose and solve software problems
3 Ability to develop software for data acquisition
4 Computer literacy to the level of at least word processing spreadsheets databases graphics statistics engineering tools and programming
5 Skill in technical writing May work in research laboratory or clinical site with potential exposure to biological agents e.g. bloodborne pathogens hazardous electrical e.g. high voltage or mechanical energy. Occasional lifting of heavy objects typically not exceeding 75 pounds/person may be requested. MGH policies governing appropriate laboratory attire will be followed including use of personal protective equipment.

Will be responsible for working under Dr. Vakoc and a senior developer to help implement test and deploy novel and customized software tools.
These tools will be used to analyze and visualize optical imaging and microscopy datasets from both clinical and biological experiments.
Core skills or capabilities in the technologies of C/C VisualStudio 2010 Qt and Boost are desirable.
Additional skills and experience with Intel Integrated Performance Primitives(IPP) MATLAB and ImageJ are helpful.
In this position the software architecture and framework will be in place and the responsibility of the software engineer will be to develop modules according to defined specifications.
Software development; Software validation and debugging
Work with postdoctoral fellow and graduate students to identify bugs and design future versions of software
Document all software according to bestpractices and perform development within an existing version control database. Perform other related duties as required.
