General Summary Overview Statement Incumbent will report to the MGH/MGPO IS Management & Planning Corporate Manager and the candidate will be responsible for coordinating information technology solutions for the hospital end user community and MGH/MGPO IS Management & Planning staff.The Analyst will actively participate in administering the MGH/MGPO Hardware Upgrade and Replacement Program as well as other hardware and infrastructure projects for MGH/MGPO.Analyst will participate in efforts to review develop and manage technology assessments and research technologies to confirm they are consistent with philosophy goals and objectives of the MGH/MGPO. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Participate in administering the MGH/MGPO Hardware Upgrade and Replacement Program. Identify and receive requests for both planned and unplanned hardware upgrades and replacements. Analyst will be primary resource/liaison for IS Support Services and PHS IS Warehouse staff at MGH/MGPO for all hardware related requests and service desk ticket request coordination.Participate in other hardware and infrastructure projects and efforts as assigned. Including but not limited to the Partners eCare initiative Non Managed Device mitigation project and ad hoc research and facilitation for MGPO hardware and infrastructure projects.Candidate will work with IS Support Services IS Integrated Network Communications IS Technical Services and Operations as well as MGH/MGPO Site IS staff and MGH/MGPO Site Information Security Officer for all hardware and infrastructure projects.Assist MGH/MGPO IS Management & Planning staff in researching emerging technologies. Evaluate business needs for end users and assist in developing recommendations for technical solutions in accordance with Partners IS platform standards.Prepare materials for use in presentations meeting and project documentation.Serve as an advocate for MGH/MGPO end users and provide consulting services for the MGH/MGPO and remote sites in the process of desktop integration upgrades and problem solving.Participate in departmental and enterprisewide projects with an emphasis on new technology integration with the Partners environment.Function both as an individual contributor and team player within Partners IS and the hospital community at large. Consistently reviewing MGH/MGPO Hardware Upgrade and Replacement Program process and procedures and makes recommendations to improve the process.Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of Partners Information Systems. Ongoing communication feedback and followthrough with customers/peers is essential.Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Information Systems Management Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.5 years related experience required. Preferably in computer systems and/or healthcare with software/hardware support in a networked computer environment.Experience participating in departmental and enterprisewide projects with an emphasis on workflow analysis problem solving and new technology integration within a large multisite environment.Must have reasonable working knowledge of networking (wired and wireless) server mobile device and desktop concepts and protocols.Exposure to the following is desired: Internet/Intranet Technologies Database Technologies Network Architecture and Implementation Security Architecture Operating System Trends and Market Implementations Server and Workstation Architecture Microprocessor Architecture Mobile Devices and Environments Skills Abilities Competencies Ability to cooperatively and effectively work with staff at all organizational levels. Working Conditions Travel between Partners sites as necessary. Supervisory Responsibility At the project level this person will be responsible for monitoring tasks and ensuring that the quality of work delivered is acceptable.
