BA/BS required.Five to seven years of work experience in a development office required. The Senior Development Officer Staff Development is a member of the PHS Development Office team. Members of this office work collaboratively with 11 Partners affiliate development offices and their 320 staff to support efforts to raise approximately $annually. The size and scope of the development programs vary and include Brigham and Womens Hospital Massachusetts General Hospital Cooley Dickinson Hospital Marthas Vineyard Hospital Nantucket Cottage Hospital McLean Hospital Newton Wellesley Hospital North Shore Medical Center Partners Continuing Care MGH Institute of Health Professions and The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare. PHS Development Office staff work collaboratively as well with PHS leadership to provide strategic solutions and support that help maximize individual and affiliate fundraising performance. Assisting in the recruitment and retention of the best talent is a key strategic priority for the PHS Development Office.The Senior Development Officers role is pivotal to the success of the strategic talent management initiatives of the PHS Development Office team. This position will work closely with the one and a half other team members to provide a high level of service to the affiliates in timely recruitment employee engagement and related support.The Senior Development Officer will play a critical role in supporting affiliate fundraising teams in identifying necessary development talent to achieve their goals. Coordinating and then stewarding a pipeline of fundraising candidate referrals for timely and strategic staffing needs to support the affiliate development offices growth is a primary responsibility. S/he will work in close collaboration with the PHS Development Office team including the Director of Development Staff Development and the Administrative Assistant; s/he will also work closely with affiliate development staff and their respective HR representatives to support the timely recruitment of development staff members. Provide high caliber candidate phone screening service and make recommendations to the hiring manager on the candidates and candidate pool based on fundraising strategy and development.Develop appropriate and resourceful multifaceted position descriptions for candidate identification including outreach to Partners referrals postings to professional associations and fundraising networks as necessary.Manage candidate and referral database (of about 5000 names) to track and identify potential candidates with specific fundraising experience in healthcare philanthropy and work closely with the Administrative Assistant on data entry and the Director of Development Staff Development to support staffing strategies.Provide affiliate development operations teams support including drafting job descriptions and postings working in close collaboration with hiring managers and affiliate HR recruiters as necessary and the Administrative Assistant.Collect sample job descriptions for a central archive of affiliate descriptions and other organizations for reference.Review incoming applications from affiliates when appropriate.Identify candidates from previous searches when appropriate.Maintain positive working relationships with affiliate HR offices.Utilize social media outlets creatively to target markets for respective job opportunities.
