Job Description

Provide direct patient care for inpatientcomprehensive rehabilitation unit supervise therapists with patient treatmentkeep an ongoing involvement with team members.Provide direct involvement with clinics for inpatients and outpatientsand consultation service.
- Consultation is provided regarding policies andprocedures of the hospital relevant to the physicians clinical expertise.
- Consultation is provided upon request to allpatients requiring physicians professional services.
- Standards and practices are provided for professionalservices rendered by physician and other health care professionals who providesimilar services.
- Clinical program evaluation is provided andrecommendations developed and discussed with physician and hospital leadership.
- Coverage physicians are supervised to meetdepartment and patient needs.
- Continuousclinical services and coverage is provided to meet patient care needs ofhospital inpatients and outpatients with other hospital clinicians within the samearea of clinical practice.
- Diagnosticworkup is ordered and performed per professional and organizational guidelines.
- Patientis evaluated and therapy orders are prescribed per professional andorganizational guidelines.
- Inservice education is provided to hospital staff to ensure quality outcomes areachieved.
- Interdisciplinaryrehabilitation team patient care and team conferences are attended to meetpatient quality and financial objectives.
- Familyteam conferences are attended and families are provided with patient careinformation to meet their needs.
- Physiciancollaboration is provided to ensure patient quality outcomes.
- Medicalreports are dictated per organizational guidelines and established timeframes.
- Selectedrehabilitation patients are studied and researched to achieve establishedobjectives.
- Coverageis provided to meet the needs of the unit/organization.
- Committeemeetings and interdisciplinary specialty clinics are attended to representmedical input and perspective.
- Other duties are completed as assigned to meetestablished objectives.
- Upholdthe PCC Organizational Values of Innovation Collaboration AccountabilityRespect and Excellence.
- Board eligibleor Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitationor Internal Medicine.
- Currentlicense as a Medical Doctor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Skills(Specificlearned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills keyboardingpresentation CPR ACLS etc.
- Ability to do primary care for the adult and/orgeriatric population
- Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.
- Highlydeveloped communications and interpersonal skills working with diversepopulation.
- Workindependently be selfdirected and contribute as a member of a team.
- Anticipateschallenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
- Highlevel of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritizework meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
