GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a motivated LPN to provide quality health care to persons with mental health dementia and medical needs in a homelike setting. Our mission is to stabilize and help the persons we care for attain and maintain their highest functional level. This is a parttime position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.- Provides professional nursing services to residents in chronic and acute care settings.
- Performs nursing assessments diagnosis treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
- Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Assists patients in ADLs(Activities of Daily Living).
- Trains and assigns work to CNAs.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those individuals who have six 6 months of experience in a longterm care setting.
New graduates are welcome to apply.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of laws principles practices and techniques of professional nursing.
- Knowledge of medication administration and complex mathematical calculations for the correct dosage.
- Knowledge of maintaining medical records charts reports and observations.
- Knowledge of the aging process medical problems and diseases and behavioral issues.
- Knowledge of federal state and local laws pertaining to health care and Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Knowledge of and ability to function and make decisions in highstress situations.
- Knowledge of and ability to use good oral and written communication skills to articulate thoughts and medical terminology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associates Degree (typically in Nursing)Experience:02 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)
Certificates Licenses Registrations:Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of WyomingOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:24 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Lift/transfer patients to different positions.
- Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs.
- Work holidays evenings nights and/or weekends as scheduled.
NOTES:- FLSA: NonExempt
- PartTime Position
- A background check including the taking of fingerprints will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation the Department of Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
- For our residents health and protection annual influenza vaccination is required and annual testing for tuberculosis.
- Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID19.
- Preemployment drug testing will be conducted on safetysensitive positions (direct patient care positions are considered safetysensitive). Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted in any position if reasonable suspicion exists.

- Current state employees acceptinga promotional opportunity recruitment must have been open to the public
- One year of service in the position must be completed. Failure to complete this requirement will require reimbursement of the bonus with the funds deducted from the final pay.
- Internal candidates will be required to remain in the position for a minimum of 1 year from the promotion date.
- Employees will only be eligible for 1 hiring bonus in a 12month period.
