Job Description


Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication

The University of Mary in Bismarck ND invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication for theacademic year with the possibility of renewal. This position starting in August 2025 is based in the Communication Department and focuses on teaching courses in media production while supporting the universitys Christian Catholic and Benedictine mission.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Photography Digital Video Production and Audio Production.
  • Potentially teach additional courses such as graphic design web design film production or film appreciation/studies based on experience.
  • Engage with students to foster leadership and service aligning with the universitys mission.
  • Participate in departmental duties and professional development opportunities.
Desired Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in Communication or a related field is preferred; candidates with a Masters degree (MA) and significant relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in photography video production and/or audio production.
  • Experience in graphic design web design film production and/or film studies is a plus.
  • Commitment to supporting the Christian Catholic and Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
