Job Description

Xaverian is an independent Catholic school for boys in grades 712 sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. Located in Westwood Massachusetts this collegeprep school welcomes students from approximately 90 communities across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Xaverian was established in 1963 and presently enrolls over 990 students. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:Xaverian is seeking applications for a high school biology and chemistry teacher who will provide fulltime coverage for an employee on temporary leave. We anticipate needing this position filled beginning April 28 2025 until the end of the academic year in June 2025.REQUIREMENTS:Demonstrated content knowledge and pedagogical skill relative to chemistry and biology. A history of collaborating with other educators as well as the ability to maintain existing curricula to meet the everchanging needs of students. The ability to use a variety of teaching strategies and assessment tools. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and an enthusiasm for the schools mission as a Catholic and Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School. Candidates should indicate in their cover letter the willingness and ability to teach both biology and chemistry.
